With over 25 years experience of working with people of all ages, abilities, shapes and sizes, all with their own particular requirements, whether it be weight-loss, muscle-building or general health and well-being, I believe I have the knowledge, experience and ability to help you to achieve your goals and also help you to be accountable in the process of achieving them..
I like to design challenging workouts for my clients, but strive to make them fun and varied, so that the sessions always feel fresh and interesting. Plus this way, we get to keep the body guessing about what’s coming up next!
Each workout will be tailored to your specific requirements and will incorporate strength, movement, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness to ensure you get the results your efforts will deserve.

I have been training with Rob for quite sometime now, from the moment we discussed my goals each week I have seen major improvements in my strength, my back, ankle and wrists are much stronger as Rob incorporates exercises in my programme to address this, my fitness levels has increased beyond my expectations. At 44, as a result of a surgical hysterectomy, I was abruptly thrown head first into the dreaded menopause. Like many women, I was suffering from unwanted side effects including weight-gain, loss of energy and low self-esteem to name a few.
Having always participated in sport throughout my life, I was determined to do something about how I was feeling and a bid to improve my fitness, body shape and overall wellbeing I decided to enlist the help of a professional! And that’s where Rob came in…
We’re all familiar with the term ‘Personal Trainer’, but for me I can honestly say Rob takes this to a whole new level. With a clear, bespoke, focused regime, tailored entirely to my circumstances, my goals, my body, it was evident right from our first session, that whilst this wasn’t going to be an easy ride – it was definitely going to be a worthwhile one.
I genuinely started to see results in a short space of time, particularly in terms of improved technique - something you rarely get an opportunity to finesse when you train alone, as you don’t always know when you’re getting it wrong. The valuable tweaks and enhancements Rob incorporated to fine-tune my work-out, ensured I was constantly improving and staying motivated, as well as training safely and effectively.
There are always options too and Rob will adapt the exercises to suit your particular needs or ability, which is great - particularly if you have an old injury like me. This way, you always feel like you aren’t compromising or missing out in specific areas.
Personally, in addition to reaching any fitness goals, I believe it’s really important to enjoy what you are doing – if it feels like a chore you’re unlikely to go the distance. Me, I had great fun at each and every session and Rob made the whole experience thoroughly enjoyable. The encouragement and support Rob provides, drives you to surpass your own expectations. Was it tough? Yes. But the sense of achievement you experience from pushing yourself harder than you thought possible, well that is priceless.
4 months later, I feel incredible; fitter, stronger, healthier and for me most importantly, happier.

"I initially met Rob from attending his body pump classes at The Fitness Engine Room, I really enjoyed the classes so asked if he would do some PT work with me. At first I learnt a lot about not just exercise but diet and how to have that healthy balance and routine. Rob is very encouraging and has a great way of getting the best out of people. The sessions are challenging but very rewarding when you start to see results. Since training with Rob I have lost over 1.5stone and well on target for the goals I originally set. The picture alongside is me second from the left after completing a 5km parkrun which Rob suggested I tried. From my initial 5km run to present, my time has improved by 4mins, which I put a lot of that down to the work I do with Rob outside of the weekly run."
